Library Cards

To get a library card, you must bring in a photo id and proof of residency with you.
Yes, your library card gives you access to materials at any public library in the state.
Not necessarily. To have a Delaware library card, you must own property on the State.
If you don’t own property in Delaware, you can pay $25 for a year-long out-of-state card.
You can be any age to get a library card. However children under 18 require a parent or guardians signature.
At our library, you present your license to check out items. However, other libraries might require your library card.
Yes, after three years your card expires. To renew your membership, you can call, go online, or come in.

Check outs

You can have 50 items checked out on a card at one time.
Books are due three weeks from their checkout date; DVDs are due in one week.
You can renew your items online, by calling in, or coming into the library. Make sure you have your library card with you, as you will need it to sign in.
You can renew your items three times, as long as there aren’t any holds on them.
Yes! Books, magazines,and books on CD are .10 cents per item everyday that they are late. DVDs are $1 for each day late.

Reserves/Holds

To put an item on hold, you can visit our website, call, or come into the library.
You can have up to 99 items on hold at a time.
Items are held for 3 days after the patron has been given notice that their items have arrived.

Computers, Printing & Wi-Fi

Yes. If you are a Delaware resident, you must have a library card to access our computers. If you are from out of state, you can present your license to receive a guest pass.
Yes, we have free WiFi at the library and also available in the parking lot.
No you do not need a library card to access our WiFi.
You can print wirelessly using the “Printeron” app, downloadable to your smartphone in the app store, or straight from our website.
Yes, you can print in color. All copies are .25 cents per page.
Yes, you can fax up to 25 pages per job and is free to the public.
yes the library does have a scanner, which can be used for a variety of tasks, including scanning a document to an email, flash drive, and more.

General

The library takes most of it’s donations through the months of April till June in preparation for our annual book sale in July. This is the time to bring in large amount of donations. Throughout the rest of the year, we do accept call donations (a few books/DVDs). *NOTE* We DO NOT accept textbooks, encyclopedias, or anything from readers digest.

We do not have private/reservable study/meeting rooms at Millsboro Public Library
We currently do not offer computer/ smart device classes at Millsboro Public Library.
We do not loan out headphones for sanitary reasons.
No. We do not have a Notary on staff.
Library staff can help patrons access job application sites, and assist with certain computer related site functions, but the library staff cannot fill out applications for patrons.

We carry state and federal tax forms during tax season and offer free printing for tax papers. The library staff can direct you to the IRS site and help print off tax forms, but we cannot help you fill out your taxes.
